Gerard Martin remains committed to Barcelona and is not interested in Premier League clubs

Barcelona left-back Gerard Martin, 23, is not interest in or considering any offers this summer. Amid interest from Premier League duo Wolverhampton and Bournemouth.

The left-back was part of Spain’s U21 squad for the European Championship in Slovakia but Gerard only played the first 45 minutes of La Roja’s 3-2 win over the hosts on his debut due to injury and withdrew from the tournament.

Gerard is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday to dislocate the fifth metacarpal bone in his right hand and the 23-year-old left-back is expect to be available for pre-season training, which begins on July 13. 

Gerard has reportedly no intention of leaving the club this summer, with Barcelona reportedly willing to consider offers in the region of €12-15m for the player to leave, but the 23-year-old left-back is uninterest and remains committ to the Blaugrana.

Barcelona, on their end, are willing to listen to offers for Martin, but only starting at €12 million. This valuation would allow the club to explore replacement options should the defender eventually leave.

One name being consider is Alejandro Grimaldo, a former La Masia product. The Spanish international reportedly has a clause in his contract that would allow him to return to La Liga for a reasonable fee.
